At the end of the day, I led the children to the school bus. One by one, they hugged me before getting on the bus.
When it got to Aliya's turn, she paused.
"Come on Aliya, get in the bus." I said but she simply held my hand. "What is it?"
"Will you come with us?" She asked and revealed a set of irresistible puppy eyes.
"What's this all about?" I asked but she pleaded.
"Please? Just this once." I stared at her for a moment. It wasn't like I hated the bus or anything, I just didn't take it.
Without a second thought, I agreed. My guts felt it was necessary to tag along, not sure why.
"Okay!" I said
"Yeah!" Aliya was filled with glee. I smiled.
I got on the bus and realized kindergartners weren't the only ones in it. Of course, since the bus was so big. The elementary school pupils also rode the same bus.
But what I didn't expect most was that Jordan, AKA the school rascal, also rode the bus. What a shocker?! He was seated quietly at the back.
