~Zayne Beckett~
A week after my birthday, we had time to go to a junkyard on Friday night. I told Aurora that Nadia's older brother worked there, so she and Carter may have been there as well.
It was exciting for me, as we were so close to finding the last stone. It was surely more exciting for Aurora, knowing that she was so determined to save her home and ours.
As we entered the junkyard, as predicted, we saw Nadia and Carter. Actually, they saw us first, and that was not a good thing.
Here it comes...
"What are you two doing here?" Nadia asked.
"The real question is why are you two here," I responded.
"No, it really isn't," Carter began. "What's going on between you two?" He was getting angry, I heard it in his voice.
"Nothing is going on between us, I promise you that–"
"You're not telling me something, Zayne. Whatever you're keeping from me won't end the world."
"I know, but Carter please listen–"
