Chapter26

#Chapter26

ISABELLE’S POV

This bracelet reminds me of him and our friendship. I value it so much because it is the only thing which I have of my village. I was going to wear it but the king’s voice stopped me.

/"You can see it, touch it but you cannot wear it/". The king says in a commanding tone. I look at him with questioning eyes. I am confused by what he said. It is mine but I cannot wear it, why?

/"But why? My king, this is mine/". I say to him with conviction. This is mine and I will take it from him.

/"I did not deny the fact that it is yours but you cannot take it, my dove/". The king says with a tone that indicates that it is the end of the discussion. He does not want to give it to me. If he doesn't want me to have it then why has he placed it here, in that box?

He takes it back from my hand and puts it in the box again. He closes the box and puts it back on the table. I was still looking at it when we heard a knock.
