#Chapter35
ISABELLE’S POV
/"Have I heard the truth?/" The king asks me as he takes steps toward me. He is barely controlling his anger. His eyes are of a darker shade and they show only rage, pure rage. I want to take steps backward but my feet are glued to the ground.
/"Isabelle, answer my question/". He says in his deep, rage-filled voice. I feel like I am going to faint at any moment because of fear. What should I answer now? I have only two options. One option is to tell him bravely what I said to Lillian and the second is to not say anything. The terrible thing is that both options will anger the king further. I am at a dead end now.
/"I-I…/" I try to say but no words come out of my mouth.
/"Now you cannot speak anything. Your silence means Lillian was telling the truth. Why did you not obey my order?/" The king asks. I can feel his anger rising with every passing moment. I take a deep breath before saying what is going on in my mind.
