Scarlett and I were getting closer and learning more about each other while we dated. The others got to know her, and Elijah softens towards her after the complete debacle with our first date. We had a game night, and I invited her to even the odds. It never ends well for someone when we have a game night, and that person is me.

We started with a poker game and ended up playing an old maid. I have no idea why we played this game since it was a kid’s game, but it was always a game we played. It had to do with my two uncles starting this tradition.

It came down to Scarlett and me since everyone else had used all their cards. Scarlett wanted to make it more interesting.
