#Chapter303
I like you
Mack
After the night in my room, Shawn talked to me more. I’m not sure if it was the aftereffects of the kisses we shared, but I was still cautious of him. I didn’t want to let my guard down and have him reject me again. Plus, I was never sure which Shawn I was getting. The warm and friendly one that I saw at the dance or the aloof one roaming the hallways.
I kept him at arm’s length for that reason. He talked to the guys more, and when we all walked to class, he tried to hold my hand. Every time he touched my hand, I pulled my hand close to me. I was afraid that if I let him hold my hand, I would increase my hopes only to have him crushed them again. Yeah, that is a big no.
At lunch, I sat on a bench in the courtyard with the guys, and Shawn sat next to me. Every time he inched next to me, I crawled away. I know you’re wondering why? Well, given my luck with guys as of recent, I thought it would be best.
