Chapter17

#Chapter17

Our wedding

Lucille

Today was our wedding day, and I seemed calm. Whom am I kidding? I’m a nervous wreck.

I got ready and paced. My parents chuckled since they had married. I had many thoughts running through my mind. What if I suck as a wife?

I didn’t want to get married and blow this marriage since I didn’t believe in divorce.

/"Hun, you’ll be fine,/" Mom said.

/"I’m eighteen. In two months, I turn nineteen. I’m young. What if I screw this marriage up?/"

I furrowed my brows.

/"All marriages have a secret. You make mistakes and argue, but you’ll have each other. Your dad and I had our moments, but we survived, and you will too./"

I looked at her and nodded. People getting married was an enormous deal. I wanted to make sure I didn’t suck at it.

/"It’s time to go,/" Dad said.

I grabbed my bouquet. We walked out to the car. I got into the back seat with Dad driving us to the church.
