A homecoming Chapter, part one: things in motion

Homecoming was coming, and the brothers kept talking about it except for Parker. Any time they mentioned the subject, he would avoid it. I didn’t understand why? I would like it if someone asked me since I have never been to a dance.

I stood in the hallway and looked at the poster taped to a wall, announcing homecoming.

/"Another stupid dance,/" I heard someone mumbled as I turned to see Parker standing next to me.

/"What’s wrong with a school dance?/" I asked him.

/"Everything is wrong with them,/" he said as we turned and started walking. /"You spend all this money to go for a few hours and hope the person you go with doesn’t suck./"

/"That’s negative, don’t you think?/" I questioned him.

He stopped and looked at me as I looked at him.

/"Is Parker bitching about another dance again?/" Patton asked as he and Paxton walked up to us.
