Chapter4

#Chapter4

Sydney’s POV:

He said, looking me up and down.

/"This one seems comfortable,/" I said in a whisper as I hurt him by pressing my heels on his feet. He screamed and called someone when he’s about to lose his grip on me.

/"Phoebe. Bring the rope. She’s not going to hear me,/" he said, clutching his teeth in pain.

/"What do you want from me? I don’t have time to waste it on you,/" I struggled as he tied my hands with a rope given by another girl. They got nothing to do with me. All these minutes are getting wasted by these stupid dead people. Even if I want to fight him, I couldn’t do it in this stupid gown and jewellery.

/"Now the princess is looking so good with her hands tied,/" Mason said with a smirk as the old man managed to get up with that girl’s help.

/"Sit down,/" he ordered, like I am his servant.

/"I won’t. Tell me what do you want from me? You, stupid dead people,/" I snapped as anger flashed in Mason’s and Phoebe’s eyes. She raised her hands and slapped me. That’s a sudden move. I want to hurt her if only I could free my hands.

/"Don’t call us dead one more time. You know what, we three are dead because of you and you are not leaving without knowing about us,/" she said, pushing me down on a chair.

/"I can never be the reason for your death. That’s a lie./" I didn’t believe them. Is this some kind of trick the hell is playing on me? I am being controlled by some dead ones.

/"Phoebe, calm down. You don’t need to hurt her,/" Mason said, suddenly taking sides with me.

/"Why are you telling her? You are also hurting me. You all are. I got nothing to do with you,/" I shouted. My voice becomes dry. I don’t even remember when I ate food or drank water. Is there any drop of water in hell?

/"Okay. That’s enough. I am trying to go easy on you, but you aren’t cooperating,/" Mason simply said and taped my mouth. I now regret coming to my house in hell.

/"So, where can I start?/" Mason ran a hand over his messed up hazel hair and sat next to me. I don’t even know whether these people are dead or not. There are looking so alive than me.

/"I am Mason. This is Phoebe, my sister and this is uncle chuck. I call him my uncle, but he isn’t. We.../"

/"Come to the point, you idiot. Why are you going easy on her?/" Phoebe interrupted as she got frustrated by Mason’s talks.

/"Why’s the rush? We got all the time,/" he said. ‘I got no time to waste’ I thought which I couldn’t express with this tape on my mouth.

/"So, introduce yourself,/" he said like we are having a friendly conversation. A pause.

/"Oh right. The tape,/" Mason laughed and took it.

/"I am Sydney Marin. I don’t need to tell you about me. Come straight to the point,/"

/"Yeah. I will. Do you even remember me? I was an innocent girl. A human. I was living a happy life and then I saw a vampire. I thought a supernatural being like that doesn’t exist except in the movies. But I was attacked by him. The last person I saw is you before I lost my consciousness./" she explained, hiding all the emotions. She didn’t show it to a stranger like me.

/"Are you a human? How.../" I trailed off, thinking that this happened months ago. The time I met Jacen after many years without memories.

/"Did he kill you? He would never do that,/" I said, trying not to accept it.

/"I am a human. Mason’s human too. The vampire didn’t kill me. He left me in a place where there are many humans that are kept just for the Vampires to feel from us. I wish he could have killed me. That is worse than death. He said ‘Humans aren’t supposed to see Slateville’. But it was an accident. I never meant to find it,/"

/"I am sorry. But what’s it going to do with me?/"

/"I didn’t finish talking. Hear me out. My brother searched to find me but by the time he..../" she trailed off, looking at Mason.

/"Suicide. She killed herself when I found her by entering Slateville. I stayed there without my sister. Chuck found me and helped me live in his house. He’s a werewolf. At least he has a heart while Vampires don’t,/" Mason continued. He can’t talk of Vampire like that. No supernatural's hurt any humans on purpose. They only do when they found this place. It isn’t Vampire’s fault.

/"You are wrong. No one here wants to hurt any humans. Killing herself is her fault./" I blamed Phoebe and expected all of them to hurt me again. They didn’t.

/"I know it’s her fault. Then without her, Chuck and I worked for Dorothy./"

/"We always do whatever she says. There are many leaders working under her. That’s when Chuck spotted you and he knows the princess was alive. He tried to kidnap you and failed. The leaders ordered us to catch you and when we failed, they killed us./"

Okay. This is... I have no words. Out of words, to express my anger.

/"You know what? You all deserve to be here. You are the ones who tried to kill me. You bought the death to yourself,/" I yelled, hating every moment I'm wasting being here.

/"Why do you all work for Dorothy? She’s evil,/"

/"You don’t know what we have been through. We didn’t even belong in your realm. We both are humans and Dorothy said, ‘if we help her, she will let us escape from the place where I have been captured by vampires,/" Mason retorted.

/"Okay. I don’t know your situation, but whatever you are doing is wrong. You sided with the wrong person and ended up dead. This got nothing to do with me. I am saying it again and again. Now let me out of these ropes,/"

/"You are not leaving. If it isn’t for that vampire. I and my brother would have lived happily. You are one of the reasons behind all of this. I don’t care whether I am right or wrong. But I want to harm someone who’s the reason for our death,/" Phoebe said, approaching the broken table and taking the one side of the table stand.

/"You are nuts. Free me now. You are messing with me for losing your life. If you have thought of killing me, drop it. I am much alive than you,/" I said as my hands strained to get loose of that rope. I can’t fight back without any energy in my body. But I won’t die. Hope has more power than anything.

/"I can’t kill you but I can harm you.../" Phoebe said with a smirk and lifted the table stand in her hands. That’s the last thing I saw.
