Bushes part and Amos runs across the clearing straight at Veronica, he knocks her to the ground before she has a chance to fire her sidearm and is upon her in a flash, his hands wanting to choke the life out of her. Peggy grabs the first thing she sees, which is a wooden cross and brings it down hard on the back of Amos’s neck. He snarls like an animal and rolls off Veronica and advances on Peggy.

The sounds of the struggle behind the two women fill the air as Piet fights off the demon, keeping its gaping jaws away from him, but he’s growing weaker, for the weight of the creature is starting to tell on his arms.

Amos strikes out with a clenched fist and knocks Peggy to the ground splitting her lip, then turns back to Veronica. Veronica meets the advancing man with a kick to his groin, he goes down, writhing in agony, and she runs to helps Peggy to her feet.
