Petrus makes his way back through the forest in the direction of where Ben’s body lies as he has coveted that fancy knife that the recruit carried with him, and feels that as he has no further need of it anymore, he would not miss it.

Piet slowly gets to his feet and moves off into the bush. Looking and hoping in the growing darkness that he’ll find something to point him in the direction that they that had taken Veronica in. As without the tracking devices, it was going to be like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Petrus nears the spot where he stabbed Ben, and freezes in place as a sound reaches his ears, something big is moving around in the area. Slowly he pulls his knife from its sheath and moves off in the direction of the sound.

Piet stops and switches on the flashlight, trying to get his bearings in the dark.

Petrus see the light and moves slowly towards it. His knife hand ready to deal the killing blow.
