<p>Veronica recovers in hospital from her ordeal at the hands of the Leopard Men and is soon well enough to travel as their work is done in the Congo. Her fear that Ben had been killed in his attempt to save her was put aside when she learned that he was recovering from the attack and the surgery, and would also soon be deemed fit enough for the trip home and that he sends her a thumbs up.</p>

<p>Due to the local population coming forward with information Roger was able to obtain convictions for fourteen of the seventeen men originally arrested on suspicion in the Leopard Men killings.</p>
