Chapter49

#Chapter49

This is probably the most frightening thing I've ever experienced in my life.

There's nothing but complete silence in the hallways of Montrose Academy. Every pair of eyes are glued on me as I make my way through the halls.

I feel unsafe as Corbin's warning creeps into my mind, /"If you think that's bad, you have no idea what I'm capable of./" And the fact that his father provides half of the school's finance is not helping either. Most students here listen to Corbin.

I reach my locker and open it. A small square black paper slips out of my locker and fall down on the floor. With a confused look, I bend down, pick it up, and look at it. There's nothing but a white skull on it.

What the heck is this?

I look around the hallway, but everyone is minding their own business now. I gulp down the lump forming in my throat and crumble the paper. I grab my book and close my locker. I head to class and throw the paper away in the trash can.
