Insomnia, depression and what's worse, he had absolutely no appetite. Things couldn't get any worse for him.

Yet when life had already made him hit rock-bottom, there was nothing left to lose anymore. Thrown into such situation, a young man who wasn't in the best mental condition, suddenly got nicknamed Midnight and found himself visiting the same girl over and over again every night in her backyard. The girl being the same one he had had a crush on years ago.

Jake was thinking all this when Ryder’s soft voice sounded from his side.

/"I’m hurting./" She said with a pout.

Jake flinched and panicked. /"Are you sick again? I should have brought some medicine. Where does it hurt?/" The questions flew out of his mouth rapidly as he straightened his back and touched her forehead.

/"My heart hurts./" Ryder said pitifully.

Two seconds ago, Jake was panicking, being worried sick thinking that Ryder had caught a cold once more. He couldn’t bear seeing her shivering and coughing her lungs out, hearing her hoarse voice and groans of pain. But hearing her say her heart hurt…he felt as if he was drowning. He knew better than anyone else what heartache felt like… He couldn’t bear seeing Ryder catch a cold, how could he bear seeing her feeling the same pain like him?
