Chapter3

#Chapter3

The entire land was heavily filled with tall dark tress that hid the surface of the earth from the light itself. The dim foggy mist covered the surface and the only part visible was leafy top half of the trees as it came up to meet the sky.

The dark woods stretched across the earth far away from the human civilisation but very close to the where the wolves resided. Where he resided. And there, laid Althea, a human, in the midst of the foggy land, very bare but perfectly hidden. Her now blond hair sprawled across the ground as she laid on the side of her very tiny body, knees tucked into her chest, like a foetus. Her naked pale skin flashed to the darkness only.

Void of any memories of who she was or what she is, she laid on her unconscious human body as the goddess kept a watch from above. And she hoped that this time, when they have her, they will keep her safe. That he will keep her safe with him. But she could only wish for it to be true.

She watched her daughter as she laid still. She had made Althea into in a tiny human who was weak unlike her Alpha self. She had taken away Ava. Her wolf. The human Althea had the lightest blond hair and the palest skin. She was about 5/"2, skinny, barely with any muscle. Her dark blue eyes hidden behind her closed eyelids, heavily covered with lashes. Her oval face almost the size of a werewolf male’s fist with a tiny nose and a thin lip.

She was a fragile kind of beautiful. One that could break easily against the hands of these werewolves. She was so unlike Althea, the female Alpha. She was just a human now. A mortal.

The goddess had laid out a path of struggles for her daughter that will hurt Althea in one way or another. But the rest was up to her. Up to him. This was her only justification for playing with destiny. Because if destiny ever showed up to raise upon its wrath on Althea, even it would pity her life and forgive her.

When the goddess was ready to let go of her daughter, she slowly lifted the dark mist that she had created to hide her daughter’s body. The two werewolves patrolling Blue Blood sensed the human body that laid on their territory and went to inspect it.

The goddess watched as they made their way to Althea and stood in front of her as they looked at one another, one in his werewolf form and another still in his human form. The human walked towards Althea as he lifted his t-shirt off his head and covered her tiny body with it.

The goddess smiled at his gesture and at the realisation to what her daughter had achieved in the land. The werewolves had become kind. More humane. The goddess had tears glimmering in her eyes now as her hands came to sit on top of her mouth. /"I’m sorry, my sweet little girl. I have sent you back to the land to suffer once again. All alone./"

The werewolf in human form bent down and adjusted the t-shirt better to shield her flesh before he lifted her in his arms and made their way towards the direction of their pack house. To him. To where the story of Althea began and ended.

Just to begin again.

Althea’s body along with the two werewolves slowly disappeared into the woods as the goddess parted her ways with her daughter once more, wishing her all the love this time.

/"May love find you once more. My daughter./"

The goddess now blessed her daughter with the same blessing that Althea once blessed upon her love. Then she too faded away back to heaven to wait for her daughter’s return and for her to once again be victorious. In love this time.

Sam held the tiny human in his arms as he made his way towards the pack house. The werewolves training on the field could clearly smell the human in Sam’s arms and looked over, curious as to why they had a human in their land.

Their eyes followed Sam’s movement until he walked through the door into the pack house. /"Why is a human in our land, Sam?/" Matt questioned as he made his way towards them. Harry too had shifted back into his human self and put on a short before he stepped into the field with them.

/"As I informed you Matt. She was on the outskirts of our territory. Naked and unconscious./" He added shyly with Althea still in his arms.

/"Let’s get her into the infirmary first./" Matt walked away as the two followed behind hurriedly. /"Don’t we need to inform the Alpha, Matt?/" Harry asked from the back.

/"I have already done so Harry. He will meet us at the infirmary as soon as he’s done./" Matt replied as he opened the door to one of the empty rooms. The doctor soon followed behind, /"Let’s just put her on the bed first, Sam./"

Sam does as he’s told and lays the tiny human on the bed but for some reason, he felt a strong urge to protect her. All the while, Matt watched the human that had been found on their territory. Her petite figure and her pale skin made her look like a porcelain doll. Both delicate and fragile.

He had this feeling like he knew her. But that wasn’t possible, since he would clearly remember the faces of people that he met and even more so a human. He will definitely remember meeting one. The feeling ate his inside, but he also had this strong need to protect this feeble human that laid amongst the den of wolves.

/"Harry, guard the door. If it’s not the Alpha, don’t let anyone in./" Harry gave a quick bow before he marched out the door closing it behind him as he stood on guard.

/"Hmm. I wonder what’s wrong with her. Her vitals seem fine. She doesn’t have any physical injuries as well./" The doctor looked at Sam when he was done examining her. /"Was she unconscious when you found her?/"

Sam nodded but looked down at the human. /"What could be wrong with her then?/" he asked looking back at the doctor now.

He sighs and places his hand under his chin as his other hand folds across his chest to support his arm as he thinks deep, before he replies. /"It looks as if she’s deep in her sleep. Like a spell was cast upon her./"

/"What do you mean by that?/" Matt asks curious.

The doctor was still looking at the human as he replied. /"Doesn’t she look like the little princess from sleeping beauty that is just waiting for her lover to awaken her from her deep slumber?/" He chuckled slightly as he shakes his head.

/"Never mind, fairy tales. My daughter recently had me read that book to her and this human kind of remind me of her, that’s all./" He said as the two watched him with confusion in their face. /"So?/" Matt pushes further.

/"So, jokes apart. I really do think she needs something to wake up because her body doesn’t respond to touch neither does her eyes respond to the light./" He demonstrated it again as he flickered the pen like torch in her eyes. Nothing. He then nudged her gently. But still nothing.

/"See, what I mean. She doesn’t respond to anything./" He sighs again as he moves to the cabin full of medicines and other equipment. /"I’ll put her on IV until she decides to regain her conscious and explain what happened to her. Hopefully that will be sooner./" He came back by the table beside the bed and placed the tubes and a bag of fluid.

/"My little girl is waiting for me at home./" He says more to himself. Matt walks to the chair next to Sam and sits down. /"Now what, Matt?/"

Matt sighs too as he shakes his head. /"Now we wait for the sleeping beauty to find her love and wake up./"

And they waited for three hours, but the Alpha was still not there and the human too laid unconscious. Both Matt and Sam felt obliged to stay and watch over the human as Harry still stood guarding the door. And there was no way that the doctor could just leave them in this situation. So, they all waited patiently until the door burst open.

The three was on their feet and turned around to face their Alpha who stood frozen shocked by the door now. His blue eyes were wide open as he sniffed the air in the room. He definitely smelled her. The scent of sweet vanilla and lavender. There was no doubt that he would ever forget this smell. It was her unique scent. It belonged only to her. And there was no doubt in his heart about it.

But his view of the person in the bed was blocked by the two giants, Matt and Sam. He hurriedly walked towards them and the two parted to either side to reveal the one that laid on the white sheets. His footsteps halted as he had a full view of the women now. The human.

/"Mate./" His wolf whispered through his lips.

But dread filled him upon the realisation that it was not her. She was not her. And he knew that he could never love another if it wasn’t her even though that another was his mate.

/"Alpha, she might be waking up soon./" The doctor went over to the bed as he heard Sam and checked her vitals again. They could clearly hear the human’s restless heart. It wanted its host to awaken.

The rage that had been built up inside him since she left resurfaced, and finally filled his heart as his eyes darkened. His wolf, who was conflicted between his two mates, gave into the rage of his human half. Slowly, his canines grew longer as he forced himself to walk away from there. He bolted out the hospital wing and ran towards the woods as he shifted, ripping his clothes apart.

No. It cannot be true. He thought to himself, almost making himself believe that he dreamed ever seeing the human. She cannot be his. He can never give himself to another. Ever.

To him, no one could take her place in his heart. Not even his second chance mate. His blessing from her.

But right now, it felt like a curse to him.
