Letting me go, eyebrow cocking, Isaac dumped his duffle bag on the couch to the side of him and popped a squat. The dog froze. His hackles had risen, but he suddenly seemed unsure. He eventually whimpered and scampered to between my legs.

/"That your mutt?/" Isaac asked, keeping his position as he held his palm out towards my Milo, making soft beckoning noises with his mouth.

/"He's not a mutt,/" I whined, jumping to his defence, but my words trailed off as I met Blake's gaze, who stood behind my brother. He looked just as perfect as he always did: messy, windswept hair framed his eyes and the smile he flashed me was sweet sin and black velvet compiled. It made me feel as though I was losing focus. It made me want to run to his arms and cuddle into his neck the way I had become so accustomed to over the last few weeks. But . . . Isaac being home changed everything. /"His name is Milo and he's a super nicey boy, so stop scaring my puppy, you meanie./"
