Blake was right. He couldn't. But at the same time, my brother's disappointment . . . I had only been the subject of it once before and it had been the most awful, heartbreaking thing I had ever experienced. I didn't want to have to deal with that again. I just couldn't.

/"He'd be so mad. He might not even want to be my brother anymore,/" I mused, pulling my two best friends close to my chest. /"Can't we just run away forever?/"

Blake pursed his lips. His hands were working on his fly, and as he completed his task, he dropped down on the bed beside me. /"Oz, Isaac loves you more than anything. You should hear the way he talks about you. You mean everything to him. He'd never not want to be your brother. I can't promise that he'll react well, but I can promise that./"

Crawling onto his lap, I let his arms back reinforce his words.
