Chapter62

#Chapter62

/"You know that's not true. He does like you. He wouldn't have you here if he didn't. You both just on different radio waves, remember?/" Isaac offered a smile. It came out smushed from the way he was leaning into his hand. /"But if he does want to be a dick and pull that card, then he loses both his sons, doesn't he?/"

I blinked at him, feeling my lashes catch on the little traitor tears that had begun to build in my eyes. /"I don't want him to ever be mad at you./"

/"We're brothers, Oz. Nothing will ever change that. I would choose you over everybody. Mom, dad . . . all of them. I got your back. Always./"

It was a struggle, and maybe even a little bit weird, but I kissed his hand. I tried to hug him, but it turned into an awkward squid attack where my arms bashed against his face. He chuckled and worked with me until we came as close to the act as the restricted space would allow.
