Rich and melodic, the sound that burst from Daddy's lips was like sunlight on water: beautiful and warming.

/"How about a date to the zoo? I'm off this Saturday. We could get up early and we could see the animals and learn all the sounds they make./"

/"Big cats./" I nodded. Then paused. /"Do you think we'll find Carol Baskin's husband if we see the tigers?/"

/"I knew I shouldn't have let you watch that,/" he said, rolling his eyes, but his hold tightened. If perfect was a moment, it would have been this one; his legs tangled around mine, and the bed held our forms in such a peaceful embrace that it felt as though we were floating on a valley of clouds.
