/"You shouldn't invade other people's privacy,/" Deacon said calmly as he stood in the doorway of his bedroom. He didn't look mad. Didn't even look flustered. Instead, he blinked at me in a nonchalant manner that had me thinking that I was, as usual, overreacting. /"You may not always like what you find./"

Teeth grinding, pulse vibrating so damn hard that I could feel it throbbing in my neck, I looked between him and the items I had pulled out onto the bed in disgust. I'd ended up taking him up on his invite for, and he was the one who had said to make myself at home. So really, this was all on him.

/"You — /" Taking a deep breath, squaring my shoulders, I tried to present myself with more confidence than I felt. I wasn't sure if I managed to pull it off. Not when I felt slightly dizzy. Not when panic built up in my gut, swishing around like a sailor about to meet a watery death.
