The smell of death clung to the air, spoiled meat and the tang of cheap perfume. It simmered in the endless stretch of hallway, thick and curling into my nostrils.

I needed to run. My every instinct screamed at me to run. Every atom that built me up tried to force my body to flee. The corridor was constructed from a blinding black glass that went on forever, thick, red bubbles simmering along the shining surface of the walls, leaking down to the floor in murderous streaks.

I needed to run. It was getting closer, but my feet were anchored to the spot and I couldn't look behind me. I couldn't move.

And then doors appeared along the walls. Thick, oozing doors that seemed to swell and rise like human lungs, pink in colour, foul in smell and looking very much like human flesh.
