Chapter203

#Chapter203

Therapy was actually helping a lot— not that I really liked to admit that— and with my therapist guidance, we had been trying to find realistic outcomes to my fears. Deacon leaving to cool down, rather than forcing me out had been one of the ones we had come up with together. Talking with my mom had been my 'homework'.

I hadn't told my therapist about the details of me and Deek. Even if knowing about the 'other me' could be used to help me better, I wasn't comfortable with sharing that with her. Instead, I used Oz an excuse to fill in those gaps, letting him represent that side of me.

/"I know,/" she said, kissing my temple. /"But you know I'm always here for you. For you and Oz. There will always be dinner for you if you needed it, or if you're struggling financially—/"

/"We're not,/" I said softly. /"But that reminds me, I was supposed to invite you out to eat with us on Saturday evening, if you're not working./"
