/"Asa,/" Quinn said, annoyance spiking her tone. /"Keep still, you cretin./"

/"I'm not doing anything,/" I jeered at her, sticking my tongue out as I sat at the end of her bed. My hands were wrapped around the long braids of her ugly dolly, pulling on them until the fabric threatened to tear.

/"You're going to break my bed if you keep bouncing around like that,/" she warned from where she sat at her desk. She was scribbling away in her workbook, doing some boring essay on some old, dead geezer. It made me feel better about my choice not to go to college after I finished school.
