/"Ready... steady... and...GOOO!/"

I tore off at the sound of Joel's signal, a shrill laugh bursting from my lips as I shot across the wet grass, shoes slipping and sliding as I weaved in between the rows of little round cones, snatching up as many palm-sized beanbags as I could as I ran.

I slipped. Beanbags went everywhere. I scampered back up onto my feet, slipping again in the process. Mud seeped between my fingers and the dampness of the rainfall the night before still clung to the grass, soaking into my trousers.

/"Asa, quick, get up or you're gonna lose,/" Joel called from the slabbed area of the garden, waving the stopwatch at me.
