I had been spinning, twirling around and around on the tippys of my bare toes, cus I had taken my shoes off cuz I wanted to show my sister my cool bacon socks, but I had stopped just to make sure that Quinn saw my nod.

She jumped up, almost tripping over her princess shoes, and pulled me into a tight hug. I liked it. I hugged back super hard, breathing in the sweet scent of her perfume. I had tried to tell myself that I wasn't even a little bit sad that Quinn had been mean to me and we weren't best friends anymore, but I had been lying.

Lucien and Sly and Ronan — Ronan was so freaking cool! He showed me how to make an origami dinosaur! — were all super amazing friends, but Quinn had been an amazing friend, too.
