Chapter39

#Chapter39

SHONDRA

Six years ago

Between the two of us, Vegas and I rearranged my room by pushing my desk/makeup table to a far corner and dragging my old twin bed from the basement. The bed sheets were in a box next to it and I put them in the wash to get rid of the stale smell. Once they’d dried, I’d hang them on the line. There was nothing better than sun-and-wind dried sheets. I’d been trying to recreate the smell forever.

While we were straightening up, Vegas asked about Axel. I’d shushed her right away. At twenty, I could vote and almost drink, but I wasn’t quite ready for my mom to overhear I was no longer a virgin.

Vee bided her time, though, throwing me smirks when she caught me drifting off… remembering.

Axel had been so powerful… so strong. I couldn’t help but clench as I thought back on how he’d felt inside of me… his harsh breath in my ear. My own cries. His low growls.
