Nic and Author disappeared as the mirror returned to its original state showing only my reflection. Twenty minutes later, the mirror glowed, and suddenly I could see Sam Adonis and everyone else except Alana.

/"Hey babygirl,/" I called out to Cat.

/"Hey dad,/" she greeted with a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes.

/"She's back at the hybrid pack, she still hasn't returned./" Lucy answered.

Looking at her, I could tell her being away from Alana was causing her pain. Her eyes were red with huge bags under them, and her entire demeanor screamed restlessly.

/"If Alana is with Sylvia, why are you still in salt springs?/" I asked Lucy.

/"I went to see her and she said she needed some space./" Lucy answered.
