#Chapter35
Painful truths
Scott's POV
The chirping of birds brought me back to consciousness. I slowly opened my eyes. I was in my room. Last thing I remember was...oh no, Hannah. I wriggled out of bed. Angry rays of the sun tore through my high window and slapped hard on my face. I rose my hand protected my precious eyes.
The door swung open. Footsteps echoed in the room. Gabrielle came into view. She was in a white plain gown with sleeveless arms.
/"Glad to see you're awake and kicking,/" she said with a warm smile. Her smile mysteriously seemed to calm me down.
/"Where's Hannah?/" I asked immediately and got up. /"Tristan too. Where are they?/"
Gabrielle pursed her lip. /"I'm sorry, but they're both gone./"
Gone? I didn't want to believe it. I was hoping that Tristan would make it alive but I never knew Hannah would die with him. Fear punched me hard in the chest.
/"You mean Hannah is dead?/" My voice came out low.
