Running off home, I hadn’t bothered to make a statement at the police station, not after I saw what I saw. I knew that not all of the police were on the gang’s side but I’m sure the majority of them were otherwise they wouldn’t be so afraid of me telling the police about them but even still, with that knowledge, I didn’t know which police officer to trust and which one not to trust. I was afraid that the guys families owned a lot of the police officers and I had no way of knowing which cop was corrupted and so, I sat in my room all day going over the fact that they knew I had tried to turn them and now they were going to retaliate, my phone was awfully silent and so was everything else in the world. It was an eerie silence that would come before the storm, and I wasn’t so sure I was ready for the storm.
