#Chapter26
Aphrodite
I stare grimly at the outside world as I wait. I wait for Ares either to calm down enough to let me out, or just kill me. But I’ll be damned if I spend the rest of my life in his aquarium. The same aquarium I was forced to watch my father die in.
I glance around, studying the walls of the aquarium. I could let loose a spell that would shatter the glass, and then I’d have a weapon and temporary freedom. But I have no intention of letting loose more magick that Ares is damn well aware I shouldn’t even possess. Especially when I know that he’ll probably calm down and let me out.
As if on cue, Ares appears. His eyes travel leisurely over the length of my body as he walks up tot the tank, placing a hand against the glass with an almost mesmerized look in his eyes. It makes sense, he’s witnessing a female Siren in her element. If guards were stationed here, they’d all be watching me vigorously, as well.
