Depends on your choice

As the plot begins, the background of the protagonist, Akizuki Takao, is gradually revealed.

He lives in a single parent family. His mother had found a boyfriend ten years her junior. His big brother is able to support himself, has found a girlfriend, and they are living together.

His mother seems to have moved out of anger, and Takao is the only one left in the house.

Takao doesn't feel lonely, he has a dream hidden in his heart.

So far, there is no target candidate for making a pair of shoes.

Until one day, he wakes up in the morning and finds it raining again. So, he ditched the station, exited it quietly, and walked down the path to the previous courtyard.

And here, he met that strange, short-haired woman again.

"Hello."

The woman spoke up.

"Excuse me."

Takao looked at the delicate little feet of the woman with the shoes facing up, and as if inspired by his original sullen look, he started to draw with a pencil in the notebook.

"Shouldn't you be going to school?"

"Skipping."

As the woman took the initiative to bring up the topic, the two started chatting.

...

"It's almost time for me to go."

At a certain moment, Takao stood up and said goodbye to her with a smile.

"Going to school now?"

"I make it a rule that I only play school on rainy mornings."

"I see. Then, perhaps we will meet again. Maybe, on a rainy day."

After that day, the plum blossoms bloomed.

The two of them met in the courtyard on time every day, and the conversation became more relaxed. The relationship naturally gets better and better, and Takao also tells Yukari about his dream of becoming a shoemaker.

Although shy, he also boldly explains his dream, which no one knows.

In this way, day after day passed.

Every night before bed.

Every day, when he opens his eyes.

Before he knows it, Takao is looking forward to a rainy day.

With the deepening of the plot, some of Yukari's mysteries are also revealed.

The reason she only drank beer and chocolate was because she had lost her taste for other foods.

Only Takao can still taste it, and Yukari also starts trying to make bento.

It was a familiar scene in Hina's eyes, it reminded her of the days when she brought her bento, and she couldn't help leaning into Asahi's arm warmly.

But when she sees the egg roll Yukari made filled with eggshells and being eaten by Takao strangely, she feels embarrassed and angry at Asahi.

"You are so annoying! Wooooo… if other people find out, I will be embarrassed to face other people."

Seeing her confusing past factor added into the movie, Hina can be described as both embarrassed and angry.

Looking at Hina who was lying on his lap and pretending to cry, Asahi had almost forgotten the daily relaxation element he added on a whim, now he had to find a way to cheer her up.

Without much delay, Asahi leaned over, sniffed the long hair of the woman in his arms, and said softly, "Because I want to share every bit of what we have experienced, no matter what... Everything is integrated into the masterpiece created by the two of us. together, memories may fade one day, but the movie will live on forever, it is a testimony to our feelings."

"Is that true?"

Hearing what Asahi said, Hina raised her head sadly.

However, this kind of timid attitude that made people feel sorry for her had dealt Asahi a heavy blow, and was even more effective when paired with the identities of student and teacher.

"No... No, there are a lot of people! Uh...uh..."

...

At the same time, the movie continues unhurriedly.

One day, Takao finally revealed his intentions, wanting to make a pair of shoes for someone, and that someone was the woman he had been chatting with in the gazebo. Even though he didn't know her at all, apart from her job, age, and name. However, he was very attracted to her.

Seeing the branches separating the two on the screen, movie critics showed interest, while the audience looked slightly uneasy.

Then, when the rainy season ended, the sky cleared, so it never rained again.

Even so, Yukari has been waiting in the gazebo, and Takao doesn't understand this yet. He couldn't find any reason to go there, and he kept running between work and school.

The two of them looked forward to the day when it would rain.

In this waiting, one day Takao finally learns the truth, that woman is the school's literature teacher – Yukino Yukari.

Due to being told all kinds of gossip, he couldn't stay any longer, and he couldn't take another step into the future.

...

Currently, the plot is nearing its final stages.

In the pouring rain, the two came to the gazebo after getting soaked.

Takao finally couldn't help himself and confessed to Yukari. Of course, Yukari who thinks a lot refuses.

"It shouldn't be Yukino-san, it should be Yukino Sensei."

A veiled rejection makes Takao's mood sink, staying here will only make him uncomfortable, so he offers to leave.

Watching Takao's figure leave, Yukari felt as if her heart was being squeezed tightly by someone's hand, and tears fell uncontrollably.

Recalling the past bit by bit, she couldn't contain her inner feelings. Before she had time to put on her shoes, she opened the door and ran out barefoot, treading on the icy ground. Even if she fell on the stairs, she immediately got up to catch up.

Seeing her active efforts, even Hina couldn't help but clench her fists, wanting to comfort her from the bottom of her heart.

Asahi looked down at her trembling eyelashes, held her left hand tightly, and smiled slightly.

On screen...

Yukari finally finds Takao on the stairs, and Takao does too.

"They will have a good ending, right?"

Hina seems to see the love between her and Asahi being exposed by the world, does she feel hurt? Hina asked nervously.

"That depends on your choice. Do you want them to be together, or leave each other with happy memories and regrets." Asahi asked.

"You obviously know my answer."

Hina bit her lower lip and answered.

After downing the rest of the Coke in one gulp, Asahi said softly, "Then keep watching."

The movie, which was originally only about 40 minutes long, was changed by Asahi to more than one hour. Of course, the extra time was worth it. It added many details from the novel, including a plot where the two finally meet again on the page after several years. He wasn't one to like the beauty of regret, even though it looked like the perfect ending.

But in this movie, Asahi will never have a regrettable ending, even if it is said to be routine. After all, how could it be so important to be satisfied and thoroughly attack Hina.
