Lance found himself second-guessing every step he made, wondering if he was just being stupid. Too many times he found himself pausing mid-step and wondering if he should turn tail and run.
Perhaps that was the better option than humiliating himself.
But the jingle of the bell grounded him back to reality again, biting back the smile as soon as he spotted Scott. The wolf shifter was naturally busy with the customers lingering around the desk or following Scott.
Lance felt like a schoolboy with just how giddy he was to see Scott, but he knew better than to try and pull the man away from his work.
Scott, on the other hand, was barely managing to keep his focus on the customers all while silently cursing the latest book release. With the amount of customers he had in the store, it was easy to guess that the fanbase was bigger than he though. Scott made a mental note to look into the series, not only for Theo but also for Lance.
