Chapter 35: Feeling Helpless

Theo couldn’t stop thinking of Lance, of the look on the man’s face as well as the look on Scott’s. He wanted to be angry at Lance and wanted to blame his favorite teacher for hurting his brother.

But at the same time, Theo knew that it wasn’t easy on Lance. Lance was a human and he was just realizing that humans weren’t alone.

“My aunt hasn’t seen Mr. Robbins or your brother in almost a week now,” Percy’s voice pulled Theo from his thoughts, the wolf shifter pup plastering on a fake smile.

“My brother has just been really busy with work, he’s been trying to get some extra shifts in,” Theo responded with a shrug of his shoulders. That was the best lie he could give his best friend, especially given the circumstances.

After everything that happened, Theo suddenly found himself wondering how Percy might react if he knew about them. There was a part of Theo that worried that Percy might turn on him like Lance had.
