Chapter 32: Loose Threads

As much as Aster did not want to leave his little heaven, he could not slow the turning of the world.

Three beautiful, blissful days he spent worrying about nothing but Jace. He spent no time thinking about his wedding, his fiancé, or the plans he had thereof. He spent every waking moment basking in the glow of their dancing stars. It was so relieving to not have to worry about anything else.

But time moved along, as it always does: too fast. Jace healed exponentially because of the spring, and they couldn’t justify staying much longer.

So Aster found himself back in the palace again, with his wedding looming not one full month away. Before the springs, he would have been riddled with anxiety, spending every waking moment worried about their plan, about organizing the different players he had on his side of the game, about making sure everything was perfect. And while those things crossed his mind daily, he did not feel a sense of fear or dread.
