CHAPTER 1 Awakened

I awoke in a room filled with lavish decorations and expensive paintings, leaving me utterly bewildered. My surroundings were unfamiliar, and I couldn't recall how I had come to be here.

As I lay on the plush bed, I realized I was dressed in a long, silky nightgown. Questions flooded my mind as I approached the door, my curiosity urging me to seek answers beyond.

Upon opening the door, I was met by the striking sight of a blonde girl with enchanting amber eyes. Her initial shock gave way to delight, and she pulled me into a warm embrace.

"You're finally awake, Jess," she exclaimed when we parted.

"Jess? Are you talking to me?" I asked, my confusion deepening.

"Huh?"

It was then that I became acutely aware of my predicament—I had no memory of my own identity, nor did I recognize any of the people or names she mentioned.

"Are you joking?" she inquired, a hint of disbelief in her voice.

"You don't know me but surely you remember Dylan "

"I truly don't know you, and I have no idea who this 'Dylan' might be," I admitted, my bewilderment growing by the second.

"This is not good," she muttered with evident concern.

"What do you mean?" I asked, desperate for answers.

"The doctor never mentioned memory loss; he only said you'd been in a coma," she explained.

"Coma? Are you saying I—"

"—have been here for a year and two months," she finished my sentence, leaving me stunned.

"What?" I gasped.

"Wait, you genuinely can't remember anything about yourself?" she asked, her concern deepening.

"No. I don't even know where I am. I was hoping someone could shed some light on this," I replied, my sense of disorientation growing with each passing moment.
