Who murdered her 1 ??!!

I supported him as he adjusted himself to the ground. His steps were initially wobbly, but gradually, they gained stability.

With my arms locked around his, I guided him towards the mansion.

They were all gathered at the door.

"We felt his presence," Jake exclaimed as he stepped forward, a huge smile lighting up his face.

They all bowed in unison.

"C'mon, everyone. Won't you at least give me a hug?" Dylan grinned.

Mike was the first to extend his hand for a handshake, and soon, everyone followed suit.

Afterward, I took a walk to the garden with him.

It might have been selfish, but I wanted to savor this moment with him alone.

"So, how is it?" he asked as we settled on a bench.

"What?"

"Being a leader."

"How did you know?"

"Ah, I can feel that part has left me. I can also sense that power radiating from you."

"Well, I guess it's not that bad. Not everyone likes me. After all, I'm the unwanted child of Eve, and I'm also the one who put their leader into a deep sleep."

He held my hand. "I'm here now. Everything will be okay," he reassured me.

"From now on—"His words were abruptly cut short by Jake, who had a disturbed look on his face, as though he'd seen a ghost.

"Bad news!" he exclaimed.

"What happened?"

"She... someone killed her," he murmured.

"Who?" I asked, unsure of what I wanted to hear.

"Mom. Your mom," he said, lips trembling.

Speechless and flustered, I couldn't believe it.

Everything felt distant.

"Where is she?" Dylan asked.

I hadn't even realized when Dylan had taken me to my mom's place until I saw her lifeless body amidst the books.

Her eyes were closed, as though she were peacefully sleeping.

One would never imagine she was gone, were it not for the gray pallor of her skin and the dark, ashy circles under her eyes. Her lips were cracked and dry.
