Chapter 5

What Melony said about being "busy with her duties" was a lie. She didn't have any duties. She just couldn't handle being in the same room as Dylan anymore. For some reason she felt weird. She loved being around him, hearing him, seeing him and everything like that!

But now her heart just beats like crazy around him! And she met him just yesterday! Was this what a boy like him could do? Could he really make someone like her fall in love?

It feels weird.. She was unsure what she should do…

Instead of going to her room or to the garden, she decided she should go to the library to see if there were any books about love. So that maybe she could find out if what she was feeling was really love.

When she arrived at the library she went directly to the romance bookshelves to see if maybe there existed a book about her situation.

She found an interesting looking book. It didn't have any facts about love, instead it was a romance! She had never in her life ever read one of those! So this would be her first time…

As she was reading through the book she got quite interested! She could not let that book go. Before she knew it, it had already gotten dark.

She decided to continue reading it the next day. So she brought the book with her to her bedroom so right when she woke up she could start reading it right away!

Before she went to sleep, the only thing she could think about was Dylan. His brown hair and eyes. What would happen if they were together like in the book?

But that would just be ridiculous! That would just be weird.. Right?

The next day right when she woke up she took her book and started reading. It was hard to explain, but something with the book made it all exciting, interesting and fun!

Melony was so into the book that before she knew it, she heard a knock on the door.

"Come in!"

Melony said.

After she said that the door opened and a maid came in. As usual the maid had a smile on her face.

"Good morning your majesty, it's time for you to put on your dress and get ready for the day!"

Melony smiled.

"Alright then! Thank you for reminding me, you can go now!"

"Of course your majesty."

As the maid left Melony got out of her bed leaving the book on the bedside table. She then continued to go to the closet and took her black kimono.

As she put it on she remembered to remind the maid to give Dylan his breakfast. But then she had an Idea.. What if she was the one who'd given Dylan his breakfast?

"That would be a great excuse to talk to him more!"

She thought.

When Melony was done changing she went downstairs and ate food as fast as she could. While she was eating her mother said:

"Oh my, you seem to be in a rush! Are you doing something important today?"

Melony stopped eating for a second and replied:

"I have someone I want to visit!"

Melony said with a smile. Her parents must have thought of something else since they looked at each other surprised and happy.

"Alright then!"

Melony's mother said.

Right after Melony was done eating she went into the kitchen to get Dylan's food. Then she ran down to the dungeon where she found Dylan sitting on the ground with closed eyes.

"U-uhm, Dylan I have your breakfast!"

Melony said nervously. Why she's nervous, she doesn't know. Dylan opened his eyes and right when he did, his eyes looked right at Melony. Melony looked back at Dylan and they made eye contact.

Melony felt like she had butterflies in her stomach. She started getting red in the face, so she quickly looked away.

When Dylan noticed that, he started laughing.

"Hah, you okay princess?"

Dylan stood up and went over to Melony, putting his hands on the plate making their fingers touch.

Melony got even more red and just couldn't look at Dylan properly.

"Thanks for the food princess!"

Dylan said with a bright smile on his face. He took the food and sat down on the floor. Melony sat down in front of him while he ate his food.

"What have you been up to?"

Dylan asked while eating.

Melony smiled embarrassed.

"W-well I have been reading a book!"

"Really? What is it about?"

Melony got even more embarrassed.

"I-Its a romance book, It's about a girl falling in love with a boy.."

Dylan smiled.

"Really? I didn't think that you would be the type to read romance!"

"W-well I am.."

Melony said, embarrassed from his reaction. Dylan smiled and started laughing. They talked more and more, and Melony realised how much more she liked Dylan. She wanted to be with him more often.

Before she knew it, it had already gotten dark. She'd missed lunch.

"Oh no! We missed lunch! If you'd like, I could call a maid to give you some food! But sadly I can't stay any longer since I have to go to sleep!"

Dylan sighed in disappointment.

"Alright, have a good night! See you tomorrow?"

Melony smiled.

"Of course! Good night!"

As Melony left she couldn't help but think about Dylan and his laughs and smiles.
