While Tang San and Co. reached Divine Punishment Meteor Fall Region.
Rayne and his two wives also reached Great Star Dou Forest.
The unique scent of air, the vast and majestic trees the covered the sky, the dry and dead leaves on the ground, the occasional roars and screeches, and a vague but threatening feeling emanating from the forest.
All of it would be a novel experience for someone from the cities.
But Rayne, Gu Shuiying and Gu Huoling looked as if everything around them was daily life to them.
They casually strolled into the forest.
After nonchalantly walking for a while, Rayne stopped.
"Shuiying, Huoling. I'll deal with the matters of the Great Beasts in Great Star Dou Forest. Do you two want to go somewhere else?"
Hearing Rayne's sudden suggestion, the two beautiful women were somewhat speechless.
"Are you trying to send us away, so that we won't disturb your reunion with the Emerald Swan?"
Gu Shuiying frowned at his suggestion and mocked in a tone of jealousy.
Gu Huoling also looked at Rayne with a meaningful smile.
"Well, there is also that. But I'm also mentioning it seriously. Don't you want to see the remnants of the Dragon race from the Divine War?" Rayne shrugged and asked.
"Are there really any dragon race from that era, other than Silver Dragon King and little Di Tian?" Now, Gu Huoling was rather curious.
"Yes. After Dragon God came back to senses and making arrangements, he took all the living and dead Dragons with him to the Dragon Realm — that he created and locked himself there. It's basically a graveyard of Dragons, a Dragon Tomb."
"Do you really not want to go visit and see the Dragon Tomb? If I'm not wrong, the remnant soul of your Father God should also be there."
Rayne suggested in a soft tone.
"Really?!"
Both Gu Shuiying and Gu Huoling were shocked.
Although they had known that Dragon God had taken away all the deceased dragons after the Divine War.
They never knew anything about the fact that original Dragon God would still exist, despite being divided into two seperate beings.
Even if it is just a remnant soul, it still shocked the Water Dragon King and Fire Dragon King.
"Then.... We have to go there." Gu Huoling said slowly with a complicated look on her face.
"I want to go there too." Gu Shuiying also said.
"Ok, then I'll also accompany you after the matter here is done. Maybe we can bring along Silver Dragon King and Di Tian as well."
Rayne agreed without any hesitation.
In fact, he is kind of curious how these two and Di Tian will react, after seeing the Dragon Tomb with their own eyes.
It is a bit of a bad taste on part of Rayne.
"Wait here for a bit. I'll be back soon."
With that, he vanished along with the forest breeze.
...
The sunlight filtered through the canopy, painting the forest floor in golden patches.
Birds trilled high above, their melodies weaving through the rustling of leaves.
Everything was alive here. Calm, green, and impossibly peaceful.
'It is a beautiful place of nature, as always.' He thought.
Rayne stepped slowly into the clearing, boots crunching on soft moss. His breathing calm, but not his mind.
Nothing in all these years of repeated reincarnations had prepared him for the sight before him.
She was there.
A beautiful and graceful woman with long emerald hair and spectacles.
Bi Ji.
Standing by the stream, her fingers trailing in the water, her long bright green hair caught in the breeze like a ribbon of memory.
She turned, as if she had felt him before she heard him, and their eyes met.
He froze.
Bi Ji blinked once, then again — her lips parting, trembling, unsure.
A moment passed in silence, heavy with everything unsaid and everything remembered.
"Rayne…" Her voice broke over his name like a wave over stone.
He stepped forward, slowly, reverently. His tone quite awkward, "Bi Ji, I'm back?"
"It's really you?"
"I thought you were..." She choked on the words, tears already gathering. "Lord said that you had perished in the battle with gods."
"I did die." Rayne said, kneeling down, reaching her now.
His voice was soft, lower, and much different from the naive but arrogant and proud tone than she remembered.
But it still had that sense of unbreakable confidence.
"Well, things happened and I was reborn again."
Bi Ji looked up at him, eyes shimmering. She reached a hand to his chest, just over where his heart beat steadily now. Her touch was light, almost unsure, as if afraid he would vanish.
Rayne covered her hand with his, grounding it.
"I came back," he whispered, "For you."
And then she was in his arms, not as a dramatic crash, but like falling into place, like gravity, like home.
They held each other quietly, pressed into the space where words no longer mattered.
After a long moment, Bi Ji pulled back just enough to look at him, her fingers brushing through his snow white hair.
"You look much younger, with different hair color and eyes."
"You look the same, though." he said, smiling gently.
"But more beautiful than I remembered. Or maybe I just forgot how it felt to see you and feel like I could breathe your scent again."
She laughed softly, tears still in her eyes.
"You always did talk like a poet and a perv at the same time."
"I had a lot of years to rehearse."
She leaned in, forehead to his, "Then don't stop now."
They stood in that clearing, time finally loosening its grip. Two souls, once seperated, now reunited again in the quiet heart of the forest.
And Rayne also found an inexplicable sense of peace in his heart.
...
Deep in the heart of the Great Star Dou Forest, at the very center where the ancient Lake of Life glowed with soft green light, a ripple stirred the calm waters.
A hidden passage opened below the lake, revealing the sealed and sacred realm of the soul beasts. This was a place no human could ever enter—unless the forest itself allowed it.
But today… it did.
A soft hum filled the air as space itself bent open.
A white-haired young man stepped out from the void. His blue eyes shimmered like endless skies, his presence vast and boundless—like infinity itself.
Behind him, two beautiful women followed.
One had flowing red hair and blazing golden eyes. Gu Huoling, the Fire Dragon King. Passionate and proud.
The other had long blue hair and calm, clear eyes like deep oceans. Gu Shuiying, the Water Dragon King. Gentle, wise, and graceful.
The ground trembled. One by one, figures appeared around them—each radiating powerful soul beast aura that could crush mountains.
The first to appear was a massive bear whose dark gold fur gleamed like metal. His roar shook the sky.
"A human dares to step into our sacred land?" Xiong Jun growled. "I'll crush—"
"Stand down."
A deep, commanding voice echoed.
From the trees walked a man with long black hair, golden eyes glowing like suns. His dragon aura was unmatched among beasts—Di Tian, the Black Dragon King.
"Do you not feel it?" Di Tian said, staring at Rayne. "That presence… that bloodline… that infinity."
Xiong Jun froze. His golden eyes narrowed.
Rayne slowly stepped forward.
"Still so aggressive, Xiong Jun. I see nothing's changed."
Everyone froze.
Zi Ji appeared next, her curvaceous form wrapped in a tight purple dress, her seductive beauty unable to hide the shock in her eyes.
"Wait... You—" she whispered.
Rayne gave a small smile. "It's been a long time, hasn't it, Zi Ji?"
The Three-Headed Hell Fire Mastiff appeared next, lowering all three of its heads without hesitation. "My Lord… It's truly you…"
The air shifted again.
A soft green light glowed nearby, and a graceful woman with long emerald hair and spectacles walked forward. Bi Ji, the Emerald Swan. She froze the moment she saw Rayne.
Then... her eyes shimmered with tears.
Even though they had just met, Bi Ji still has this sense of non-reality, as if everything that is happening is a wishful dream.
Rayne's gaze softened. "Don't cry. You're making me feel bad. I said I won't leave again, didn't I, Bi Ji?"
She rushed into his arms, hugging him tightly. "You foolish man…I know, you always keep your promises…"
The Ten Thousand Demon Tree King rose behind them, its leaves rustling gently like whispers. "So… the Dragon of Infinity has returned. The wheel of fate turns once more."
Rayne slowly let go of Bi Ji. His gaze turned serious.
"Where is she?" he asked. "Silver Dragon King."
Everyone fell silent.
Di Tian stepped forward again. "She is still recovering… beneath the Ancient Golden Tree. The divine power of Asura God King still lingers in her wounds. She has not fully awakened."
Rayne's blue eyes flashed with cold light.
"Asura…" he muttered. "I'll deal with that later."
He walked past them, Gu Shuiying and Gu Huoling following quietly.
The deeper he went, the purer the energy became. Emerald light surrounded them.
A giant Ancient Golden Tree was visible to his eyes. Anyone who knows the plot of Peerless Tang Sect, would know what would become of this representative of this planet's life.
He went deeper.
And finally, beneath the giant Ancient Golden Tree, surrounded by soft vines and soul energy...
She lay there.
Silver Dragon King, in her human form.
Her silver-white hair flowed like a waterfall across the grass. Her face was beautiful—like a sleeping goddess, untouched by time. Yet pale. Fragile. Her brows slightly furrowed in pain, a faint red mark glowing on her chest.
There were pieces of emerald glowing metals around the place — Life Gold.
As he laid his eyes on the woman,
Rayne's breath was slightly caught.
'In the fan community in my past life, Gu Yuena was called the most beautiful woman in Douluo Series. Now that I see her in person, I understand. That reputation really precedes her.'
'She really is beautiful.'
He slowly knelt beside her, his hand brushing a strand of silver hair from her face.
"You're still the same…" he whispered. "The same stupid look... and beautiful."
Silver Dragon King's eyelashes fluttered.
Her lips parted weakly.
"…Ouroboros…?"
His heart trembled. The trembling from deep within her bloodline told her that she wasn't hallucinating.
White hair, wind-tossed.
A long silver-white coat fluttering in the wind.
Blue eyes—brighter than any sky she'd ever seen.
Her breath caught. Her body froze. It had been thousands of years, but the memory had never left her.
His back back then was bloody, his body broken, yet… he stood tall.
Proud. Untouchable. A dying god, yet still unshakable.
Now, he stood before her again.
Whole, alive, and even more dazzling than she remembered.
"…You," Silver Dragon King whispered.
Rayne looked at her, a calm smile on his lips, as if nothing had changed. As if no time had passed.
"You remember me, don't you." he said.
His voice was deep and smooth. The same voice she had heard before slipping into unconsciousness all those years ago.
She stood up with some difficulty.
"How… are you alive?" she asked.
Her voice trembled, though she didn't mean for it to.
Rayne stopped a few steps away from her, hands in his pockets, eyes glowing with a faint light.
"The universe tried to kill me." he said simply, "It failed. It's as simple as that."
The wind grew quiet. Golden leaves hovered in the air.
"You should've died." she said softly, "That's the Laws of the Universe...! Even you… couldn't survive that."
Rayne chuckled, "Even gods fall. But I am not like the others."
"Throughout Heaven and Earth, I alone am the Honored One!"
He stepped closer, and Silver Dragon King instinctively stepped back.
"Still afraid of me?" he teased, his grin playful.
"I'm not afraid!" she said quickly, eyes flashing.
"You were staring like you'd seen a ghost."
"I was… surprised," she said.
Rayne raised a brow. "Is that so?"
Miss Silver Dragon King looked away, cheeks slightly red, but she didn't know why.
Even though her aesthetics as a Dragon is different from humans, she still found Rayne very attractive.
"You saved me." she finally said. "Back then."
Rayne's smile faded just a little. His voice softened.
"Not quite true. Still, you were the only part of him worth saving."
Silver Dragon King's heart skipped.
Him. The Dragon God.
Her former self. And yet, not.
"Why are you here?" she asked.
"I came to take back what's mine," Rayne said.
His tone had changed. He sounded serious now.
"This world, the laws of the universe, my Divine Throne, my loved ones. All of it."
"They dared to trample on my smallest of wish, a simple and peaceful life. Since they dared to provoke me — be it Asura God King or the Laws of the universe,"
"They must be prepared to face my wrath."
She stared at him. His aura was calm… yet beneath it, she could feel the storm.
He wasn't bluffing. He had truly returned.
Silver Dragon King blinked. Her lips parted, but no words came out.
"And... From now on, you don't have to carry on the hope of soul beasts, all by yourself. I'll also give you some assistance."
These soft words from Rayne seemed to have struck a chord in Silver Dragon King's heart.
She felt the burden on her, lessened by more than half. She felt lighter and brighter.
"By the way, what do I call you?" He asked.
Her lips parted slightly. She had a thoughtful look — then slowly said.
"Gu Yuena... You can call me by this name." She said softly.
"Okay. Let's get along well, Gu Yuena." He said with a carefree smile, and extended his right hand to her.
Gu Yuena looked at the hand extended to her in a daze. Then, she put her own hand on top of his, holding it tightly.
"Um." She nodded, with a small but definite smile tugged at her lips.
The beasts, watching from afar, remained silent. None dared disturb the moment.
Even the Lake of Life shimmered brighter.
For the first time in thousands of years...
The Uncrowned Ruler of Soul Beasts!
The Strongest!
The Dragon God of Infinity had returned.
And the soul beasts… had hope again.
