"So you want me to believe he blackmailed you, an influential socialite?" Kory asked. 


"He did! I swear" she cried. Carter laid his hand on hers comfortingly. 


"Calm down, it's okay. I believe you. What happened next?" He asked soothingly. 


Kory rolled her eyes for two reasons. One to keep up the charade and the second at herself because though she knew he was playing a part, seeing him being so... adoring to her made her irritated. 


"He told me he'd release the information if I didn't listen. It was just harmless. I only told him when she'd be away from home and the guys she hung out with, that kind of stuff. He probably just wanted to know everything about her because he really liked her, at least that's what I thought" 


"Come on, no one can be that naive" Kory said harshly. 


"Lieutenant! That's no way to talk to a victim"
