A long day ahead

How we was endless it was long in and winding its proportions was increasing and decreasing like a spring and had no consistency the wallpaper was all the place some of it had word some of it had a random flower wallpaper but in orange and the orange was neon orange that burnt through Mono's sensitive eyes causing him to go temporary blinder than he already is. In addition to this the very bright and yellow lights made it look like it was made by a child with no sense of what color would go well. Pictures on the wall were frames with elaborate gold, they were placed uncannily in the frame with no joy on their face, their eyes deprived of color and their body decommissioned to become out of motion, stuffed with flowers for some reason. Below these photos of text so small that only an atom can read the history of these people are so small that the winds are only one line, maybe they were a failure.

"Hey King, what are those pictures about and why is the written text so small and so less" he asked.

" You see, in our language we have a general rule that people who have lived large legacies, their lives need an iconic one line that means everything or a last word. The pictures are of people who helped the community. Also our language is written in small text so their presence will overpower the simple words they say" said King.

" Nice way to honor them, how do you take pictures?" he asked King more questions to make the walk less tiring.

" We use soil from near the river that can stain paper and from the plants we have make the colors of the picture and we make it by lasering the outline of the person and then adding the stainers with an addition of touching up with a laser to varnish the photo" he explained in a way that is understandable but has a decent amount of loopholes.

"Thank you, now I know" replied Mono leaving the conversation to fade into the back of their memory.

The walk was silent but the sounds of their food steps and the breathing sounds of king according to the hallway after the conversation died a couple minutes ago. After the picture frames Mono started to see doors and they were all the same with identical squares above and below jamming the unassuming door know that if opened will lead them to who knows what.

Monos eyes fixated on the end of the hallway that was now in his vision. It was a door that resembled a blackhole sucking the light out of the hallway; it had no highlights, no shadows and the door knob was unable to be viewed by the naked eye.

King opened the door by kicking it which slammed the wall but no cracks were found. Mono didn't seem to care to notice the surroundings. He jumped into bed that felt like he was smothered by a million plush toys inside a crane game, he dozed off, forgetting to try the suit's features like hail mentioned which might lead to later regret.

Splash!!

Mono was a walk into cold water trashing his face like a Tsunami he jolted up awake to see a horrifying scene of king and his wife holding pitchforks and kitchen knives and buckets of water that may be a part of their weaponry.

"I knew they were going to be like this, no-one is this nice to me unless they were going to kill me" his thoughts raged in his head.

"Stay back, I have a gun!!" Mono held a hand gun, a pathetic display to get some time to run away from King and his wife.

"No,No we are no harm because this is the way we wake up people and we were also a bit scared that you might be a thief" His wife explained.

His wife wore an ankle length gown with pajama pants inside. The skirt was lined with pockets and looked more like clown clothing. The upper part of the gown had plaid and really puffy sleeves that could endless pockets of space and time.

" We had thirty five people arrive to our house in a similar manner because my husband is gullible which has lead to us giving shelter to murderers, thieves, clowns that were good and bad and many more" said King's wife.

" I'm really sorry for judging you but don't pour cold water on me, '' Mono apologized .

Later Mono autopilot the morning routine that included brushing with a combination of grass and water, ate waffles that were not to note worthy but Mono had the appetite of a teenager so he ate ten plus plates of it.

Mono lays his head on the table as he has finished eating, however the thing is he just started a day and has arrived at a very rusty cupboard. A cupboard that is two times the size of him carrying it in one hand as if it is a basketball. Proceeds to keep the cupboard next to the table and takes out a pile of papers and starts to explain the economy of this world to mono. Due to the fact that yesterday he had said that explaining this to mono because and now we have arrived to keep this promise, but is not really in the mood to listen to economics so he was almost about to fall to sleep, but king kept on slapping him with papers and continued to explain for endless amounts of time however it was only for one hour.

However mono did remember one thing from King's lesson on economy. He basically remembered that in this place there is multiple ownership. Some things can be privately owned, some publicly, and some from the state. Everything else came out of the other ear like a bullet train. So for now he never knows if we ever use this information for anything.

The sun positioned itself to the center of the sky, not to the right nor to the left. Mono was led to the farm lands owned by King and his wife. He had wheat, strawberries and some other crops. He also had an orange and apple orchard nearby. The remainder of his land was occupied by cows, goats and sheep grazing while the farm house had a stable with horses and a chicken pen. " Woah, this kind of looks like the movie farms they usually do romantic stuff in" said Mono as his eyes twinkle with excitement, teleporting left and right to see real plants and animals. " I'm really happy to be seeing real plant and animal life after ten years, those artificial ones didn't feel as refreshing or even tasty to eat but if animals can read my mind here I should have definitely not have said that" mono thought to himself staring at a sheep nearby.

" Mono you know when you said you want to know more about this land's war history, so we will now learn about it by getting to know the land itself" boldly claimed the king as he held a shovel, some gardening tools and lastly a tractor behind him.

"You sort of have a point so what should I specifically do?" asked mono as he showed motivation to improve as a human with his eyes and ears focusing on kings every word and action.

"You will help me plant vanilla orchids because our land is suitable for it and it's a lucrative product to sell, you will later milk the cows, shave the wool of the sheep and we will be fertilizing the crops using the tractor" king said passing mono leading to Mono trailing behind him.

" To think that in a world with dinosaurs, eyeless fish.... I don't really know the name of those weird creatures I saw that can coexist with farm animals" thought Mono.

" Hey, can we use a tractor to plant the vanilla seeds?" asked Mono curiously.

"True, however I want you to try something without technology if in an emergency you can at least farm on your own and live off that, ya know" said king as he started to shoveling the dirt and planting the seeds.

After that King silently sowed seeds like a factory machine, very fast and efficiently. Meanwhile Mono shoveled little by little but at one point saw an earthworm while digging his fifth hole. His eyes fixated on it as he saw a memory of the past arrive into his vision.

An unrecognizable pile of joints connecting a string of maggots escaping from the hole Mono dug a hole to bury the once lively person whose eyes gleamed as they talked about the things they love now lifeless. The body has caught up to the brain that had once been connected and has now been set free to finally rot slowly in isolation. It's a stringy dead cell that were once luscious locks, once blushed cheeks now wine red reflecting the life it had a moment before. The machines that light never enters stare back at a person who was once one of them and now. They strip them of their clothes and reuse them. No one knows who this person is nor their life but no one had a slither of guilt killing a human who was like them.

Mono's body froze in time, his hands quivering and he fell down curled up without reaction.

"Hey, you ok, what's on your mind Mono" asked King as his attention was divided between Mono and him sowing seeds.

" I'm fine, I'm just shocked to see an earthworm exists" eyes unwavering from the task given Mono continues as he replies nonchalantly.

" I'm not a coward, I will change and fight for myself and improve so that the guilt of me not trying or unable to help someone will be the past, this world has given me that opportunity so I should grasp for it as if it was the last straw between life and death" Mono thought as the past of him being incompetent and an easy target due to his unattractiveness leading to him never let into the door of endless opportunity. He saw that change in his charisma, game, personality, and influence his life for the better however for now he does not know how.

They continued to do the work with the conversation becoming stale after King explains what Mono to do and he does it at a slower pace and at a decent quality. The sun glazes the place in a yellow tint with the waves of heat intense enough to be sighted. King with the same vigor lasts till the end of the day however Mono was not so lucky. His water supply of his body leaks drop by drop as if he were a cloth that was ringed. The water soon formed puddles and the cloth was for now eternally drenched watering the crops with the impurity of an odoured and salty sweat.

The sun is now glowing red with the sky in blood. Mono and king are drenched in sweat. Now they were really really exhausted, especially Mono who even after being involved in the zombie apocalypse protection efforts he didn't actually do any work due to being used as a punching bag for the others to vent their frustrations. His eyes dropped turning almost a dull purple and his body truly couldn't keep up. Mono collapses on the ground leaving cracks on the ground. King held his hand out, helping him to get on his feet up to the house slowly. Despite being mostly a failure in life Mono's face was gleaming, today they have done something productive.

King said "come mono lets go to the festival, I will introduce you to everyone there. HE lifted mono on his back and carried him on a piggy back. To the festival to long trails of road sand and weird monsters which said hi to him. Mono noticed that his feet were bubbly and full of scars from the day he had before. He was not exactly in the mood of going to a festival. But he could not refuse the kind person who helped him.

They travelled for a long while but most of it was completely lost to Monos short memory due the pain his body was feeling.

King let Monos feet reach the ground as they felt the vibration of the drums and sounds of the instrument that looked similar to a trumpet merged with a piano to produce a sonically interesting sound. The ground was cinnamon, the stalls of food surrounded by a barrier of flowers each different from one another.
