Kids shove me out of the way in their haste to escape. Hana grabs my arm and yanks me into the hallway where red lights are flashing.

Instant headache.

"Go straight to the emergency exit. There should be a man waiting at the bottom of their stairs."

"What?!"

Hanna shoved him forward. "Don't question me. Go!"

I nod and race through the halls through the red doors. Those who hadn't heard what Hanna had said were heading toward the elevators.

Will turned to shout at them, but before he could say anything multiple guns pointed at the group of kids and shot them up.

"Shit." Will hissed. "Move! Move!"

"GO TO THE RED DOOR!" Justin screamed gesturing for a little boy to follow him.

Moments later, the ground in front of the elevator was covered in red and bodies. Hanna caught up to me again, pulling out two guns from her clothes.

Who the hell is this woman???!

"Get these kids to safety. Now, Andre. Go!"

Will had reached the door first and pushed on the handle, but nothing happened. He tried again with the same result. Justin joined him but nothing was working.

Behind us, the guards had entered the hall and were now shooting towards us. Kids screamed and fell down to the floor covering their heads.

A kid beside me held a shaky hand toward them and pulled out a chunk of the wall, throwing it at the men. He took half of them down, the others were still shooting, bodies dropped around me like flies and the door was stuck or jammed.

We're going to die here.

Hanna shot down two of the men, and a bullet ran through her arm. She screamed and dropped the weapon grabbing her forearm. She whirled toward them, eyes wide.

"Open the door!"

"It's stuck!" Justin wailed, shaking the handle. "We're stuck!"

"We're going to die!" a girl screeched.

Amanda tapped a metal box on the wall. "We need a key! Or..or an ID!"

Hanna reached into her clothes and pulled out a badge, she made a move to toss it but two bullets ran her through. Hana stumbled , blood dribbling from her mouth before falling forward, dead.

Kids screamed and pushed us closer to the wall.

Hana was dead. Gone.

She was the only person who knew my family, the only clue I had and she was gone. Just like that.

My hands shook at my sides and my eyes squeezed just. Something flickered and them the light went out.

The guards started shooting around and kids cried out in pain.

Someone pushed on the door. "IT"S OPEN!!! GO! GO!"

I stumbled with the crowd toward the door and stumbled when a kid grabbed my pants leg. I couldn't tell if it was a girl or guy but their hands were slick with something. It was soaking though my clothes.

"Help me. Please. I'm Quinn. Don't leave me here!"

Quinn.

I blink then bend down to help her stand, she must've been hit in the leg because she was limping.

"Get on my back."

She did and I slid through the door right before it closed, we all then raced down the stairs toward a pair of double door that were open into the back of a large white van.

"Woah! Where's Hana?"

I adjust the girl on my back and make my way to the front. "She's gone. I'm..I'm sorry. She's gone."

The door slammed open above us, and the man jumped. "We don't have time for mourning. Get in the car quickly."
