CHAPTER 33: OLD FRIEND

Sarah said her goodbyes to Sia and a glum Richard the next morning. They've already exchanged contact information, so they'll always be in touch.

Sarah was lonely now that Sia was gone, and she missed home. Fortunately, this mission was only a few days away from completion.

Sarah spent the next two days doing extensive research on cosmetics and other topics of interest to her, particularly the entertainment industry.

She would always talk to O'Neal at night and listen to him rant about this and that, which was a great stress reliever for her.

Meleek, on the other hand, had no idea what had happened to him. It was a huge disappointment for her to pass up on a stunning young man whose tastes were nearly identical to O'Neal's.

'Unfortunately, they would have been best brothers.'

With only one day left before the mission's end, a bored Sarah decided to go shopping and buy a few things for O'Neal and her staff.

She left the hotel early in the morning and went to a popular market where she never saw any wealthy people. To avoid any problems, she dressed simply and wore a mask over her face.

Her attire did not distinguish her or make her stand out; she simply blended in and appeared to be a wealthy young woman working for a well-paying company.

Treasures could be found in places like these. When she was in high school, she had a poor classmate who was supported by a scholarship and was looked down upon. She disliked that girl a lot back then.

She was hardworking and appeared to be a saint.

She was more attractive than most of the girls in class and had numerous suitors. She didn't even have to raise a finger for help to arrive.

This girl's life abruptly improved after she sold a painting she had purchased at a market. She had no idea how much it was worth, and it was even hidden inside an old study textbook.

And, being as astute as she was, she had the painting appraised, and the girl became wealthy overnight.

Of course, she and others were skeptical, but after spending two years in that hellhole, she now realizes that the world is full of good things; one just needs to know where to look.

Sarah was obviously not there to find hidden treasures but to find anything good that her people would like. It was pointless for her to spend thousands of dollars on gifts that would be useless in the environment in which she lives.

It was preferable to purchase something useful, which is why she went there. Most of her employees had families and children, and these markets were the best places to find children's clothing.

Sarah went wild shopping in this manner, and every now and then, she will go into hiding and store everything in the storage space before continuing her shopping.

Sarah went shopping in another well-known shopping mall that opened a year ago in the afternoon. The shopping mall belonged to another wealthy family with whom she had never had contact before all of these changes.

Sarah went into a shop that sold men's clothing, remembering O'Neal. She was very interested in the clothes because they were expensive but of high quality.

As long as she had a hankering for something, she would pick it up and pass it on to the eager helper who was following her for good reason.

Someone accidentally bumped into her while she was picking out clothes.

Sarah wasn't the type of person who gets riled up over trivial matters; instead, she always preferred to talk things out first.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bump into you!" a flustered female voice said before she could do anything.

Sarah froze without turning around, that voice... What made that voice sound so familiar?

Sarah was shaken and terrified of raising her head. She didn't want to believe it. If this person was truly the one, as she believed, she didn't know how to confront him.

The lady in her thirties looked at the young lady with a mask who wasn't responding to her, wasn't looking well, and seemed flustered.

"Does something appear to be wrong? Are you hurt?" she inquired, concerned.

Sarah knew that if she went to places she used to go, she'd run into some old friends and acquittances one way or another.

She had come across a few since returning to Belmore, but she had never bothered with them because they were not close to her at all.

She lifted her face, bracing herself for the unknown, and came face to face with a face she hadn't seen in a long time.

"I am glad that you are okay, and I am very sorry about that," the woman said, looking relieved that Sarah was fine.

Sarah forced a smile and replied, "It's okay, I was a little distracted."

"Ahhhh, that's very good then," the lady said cheerfully.

She was afraid of meeting an unreasonable person, such as those misses from wealthy families who would erupt for no apparent reason.

Years of working as a salesperson had taught her not to judge a book by its cover.

Sarah resumed her shopping because everyone was fine, and the lady did not leave the store.

'How come she looks so much like her? We haven't talked in ten years, and the last time I heard from her, she had gone missing three years ago after getting into an argument with that person. Aside from the fact that this person is much younger than she is, they cannot be the same person.'

She denied her visions but couldn't take her gaze away from the younger woman.

Sarah wanted to talk to this old acquittance more, but instead of using her old identity, she could use her current one.

After convincing herself, Sarah, who was paying her bill alongside the acquittal, initiated a conversation that resulted in something that no one could have predicted.
