She didn't need to be told what made Irene happy; her entire life revolved around Sarrah, and it was so serious that Irene wasn't even looking at the man who was pursuing her.
"Hello, Eunice!" Irene smiled warmly as she approached Eunice.
Eunice's smile faded when she heard this; she was Irene's big sister, but in the four years since Irene had returned home, she had never referred to her big sister or her brothers as big brothers.
And yet she constantly refers to Sarrah as "big sister," how unfair does that sound? Very!
Irene, on the other hand, didn't notice Eunice's expression because she was preoccupied with a large scheme in her head. Eunice couldn't ignore Irene's greeting, especially with several servants around the house, so she responded, albeit not enthusiastically, "I am doing fine, and you?"
"I couldn't be better," Irene said brightly. "Would you believe what happened today?"
