The Missing Piece

In a secret facility in an unknown star system, unknownst to everyone, a lot of activity was taking place. Researchers were busy with combing the logs of the B1 Incidents.

Dr. Luna was busy about overseeing the simulation of the whole incident. From the first moment the Fritzer left the Shore, till the moment of impact and the aftermath of the explosion.

The Lab had recently received a highly classified delivery of a batch of the best Super Computers in the Empire. The patron of this research facility had generously provided them with the latest model after hearing their needs for super computers that could perform the simulation of an event of this scale.

Although the event may have happened only over a few minutes to the observers. Over the span of these few minutes, a lot had happened. Most of these didn't get recorded. But right after the explosion, All the energy stored inside the lines had been released simultaneously. And that had caused an explosion on a magnitude unseen by humans before.

Although the leaked data from the shore had a lot of details of the events that had followed the explosion. There were a lot of gaps in it.

The Shore was at the periphery of the system when the explosion had occurred. And while the sensors of the Shore were quite powerful and state of the art, the huge distance still posed a huge problem. Much of the data had never even reached the Shore. The Powerful sensors of the Shore had captured what little it had been able to. But that wasn't enough.

After combing through the data multiple times, Dr. Luna still hadn't been able to pain a full picture of the event. That's why she requested some super computers from the higher ups so that she could model and run a simulation that would help her paint a better picture.

But it wasn't easy for her. Over the last few weeks, she had received all the data that they could gather from the Shore. Although she didn't doubt that there were more data that were under even stricter restrictions. But she couldn't get her hands on it.

She had to work with what she had. She tried to fill in the portions of information that were missing to her best.

But she had to rely on Simulations for the rest of it. Over the last few weeks she had spent countless nights formulating and modeling the Huge Simulation.

There were a lot of parts to it, And the most important variable in all these was, the Energy lines. There was little data about the lines itself in the first place. So she had to read the reports and figure out the potential nature of the nature. Although she had her doubts with the claimed energy levels inside them, But she had to go with it anyway.

The Insane amount of energy levels inside them was a big reason why she needed such powerful super Computers. Simulating the behavior of energy was a real finicky. There was no real way to figure out how it would behave. And when the levels reached such insane levels as in the energy lines. It became even harder to predict.

As she added more and more information to her simulation model, The huge supercomputers began to ramp up. To calculate the insane amount of energy, and it's behavior, It was guzzling a insane amount of power.

But all would fine as long as she figured out what had really happened.

After reading through everything and all the reports, She couldn't help but feel that there was something missing. She was missing something really crucial in all these.

She wasn't really sure what, But she was determined to figure it out.

She was currently walking towards the delivery bay of the research facility. Although the facility was extremely well hidden in a belt of asteroids. It still needed essentials to functions. Currently, it was expecting a special delivery. This would be crucial to the ongoing concerns of Dr. Luna.

As She walked towards the bay, she saw that the shuttle had already arrived.

"Good, It's already here.", She murmered before she hastened up her pace.

As she reached the shuttle she saw a man walking out of it, He recognized her and approached her.

"Dr. Luna, I didn't expect you to be here, I was just about to deliver this to your lab."

"Well, I'm here, Give it to me."

The man handed over the secure lockbox over to her.

After she received the box, she quickly turned around and rushed back to her Lab.

She was really excited for what was inside the box. So she quickly cleared up the mess on her desk before putting the box on it.

She quickly entered the passcode and opened up the Box.

She marveled as she looked at the intact sample of a piece of the Lines.

This was probably the only piece of Sample that someone had managed to sneak out of the crew of the Shore.

As far as she knew, All the samples of the lines were taken by Dr. Kbom. He hadn't any to escape him. But her patron had somehow managed to get their hands on one somehow.

Luna didn't know how they had managed to do it. But she was glad that they did.

This was the final piece of the puzzle. Without a proper example of the Lines. It wasn't really possible to model them in the simulation properly. So getting her hands on this meant that she could finally finish modeling the simulation.

With the proper specimen before her, she could actually make a model on how it behaved, And most importantly how it could store such a huge amount of energy inside it without exploding.

Her grin reached ear to ear as he beheld the sample of the lines in her hand. She quickly turned before taking it towards a scanner. She needed to quickly figure out it's properties and finish modeling the event so that she could finally figure out what had really happened back on B1.
