Self Interests

After about a week, the Jeager transitioned back into realspace near the outskirts of the Handeln System. The Handelnd system was a really important Trading hub for the Empire. It was also the biggest one.

This system had quite a few features that made it a great choice for a Hub.

Firstly, the twin stars of the Handeln system created a special Gravity well that made it specially easy to travel to the star system. The FTL drives had a easier time jumping into the station.

Another thing was that it had a lot of planet in it's goldilocks zone. That gave people lots of room to work with and build things. Although the Empire had already terraformed a few planets due to the need of more space, but the starting point was pretty good.

Also it was in a really favorable position when one considered the map of the Empire and it's location. There were a lot of alien empires around the Empire borders. The Handeln system was located really close to the middle of the empire. That made it a safe system to facilitate Trade.

One the Empire figured out all these things, They wasted no time developing the system. The Empire put an insane amount of resources into the system to build up it's infrastructure. It was a bit different from other station.

The entire Handeln system was governed by a coalition of corporations and different groups under the watchful eye of the Empire.

This Coalition managed everything on this system. From the transports, to the space stations, to planetary infrastructure. Everything was done according to the policies set by the coalition.

The Empire gave them the leeway to manage this huge star system that consisted of over 12 different colonized planet. And gave them the power to manage the trade that went on in this star system. This was because the stakes of these groups and corporations were the biggest in this star system.

All of these corporations had invested a huge amount of resources in this star system. Building factories, Industrial districts and much more. This made them the biggest stake holder in this system. So he Empire had decided to give them the leeway they wanted in the form of the Coalition.

They governed the system, And the Empire governed them. It was a win-win situation for everyone.

As there were a lot of members of the coalition and a lot of factions that wanted to see different policies be put into action, they all kept each other in check.

All of these things made the Handeln system a haven for trading. But it also caused the traffic to and in the system to explode!

A huge number of ships and other vessels transitioned into the system every minute. All these ships needed to be guided to inner planets safely. And needed a place to park in the orbit.

Although Space was just a huge empty space. The amount of ships were nothing to scoff at. If not careful, then one could easily clash into another which would be problematic for everyone involved.

That's the space stations in this system were huge. Capable of handling hundreds of large ships at a time. The massive ports and docks were really something to behold.

Currently the Jeager was still where it transitioned out of FTL. They contacted the traffic controllers of the system and were told to stay put until they could clear a path for them. Which may take some time.

There were so much traffic in the system that the wait times could be upto a couple of days! But fortunately, the Jeager had received permission to come in to the inner system after waiting for about 8 hours.

It took another 22 hours to reach the inner system. Their destination was Handeln III. Which was a planet known for it's bulk supply trades.

Most of the things that the Jeager would need could be found there.

So after the Jeager successfully docked at the space station, all the crew aboard the Jeager got into work. Although they had been making preparation for the past couple of weeks, There were still a lot to do.

The chief supply officer had the most work to do. He needed to contact multiple suppliers and get them to supply the items he needed.

There was a lot to do. But Kita trusted his crew to be able to handle this stuff.

He had already setup a budget of 50 million credits to procure everything that they needed. Which should be more than enough.

Kita gave Hugo a call to ask about if he needed any help procuring the parts. To which he replied that he was already handling it.

Assured that they would handle most of the things he took a shuttle to the Planet himself. He needed to buy a few industrial machines for the Ship. He also wanted to see if he could find a few of the equipment that he wanted for the lab.

Although he doubted that Handeln III had those. But he decided to give it a try anyway.

That was when he got call from an unknown caller.

Curious who it was, he picked it up.

A bright and young face lit up in the projection. The guy seemed to be in his early 30s and had a formal attire on.

"Hello, Dr. Kita Thiels. I was sent by Mr. Holland. My name is Nova Solis." The guy introduced himself with a smile.

It seemed that Lieutenant Holland had sent him.

'So this was the guy that he wanted to send. Although he seems a bit young for the Job. But if Holland sent him it must mean that he was quite capable.' Kita thought to himself. He trusted Holland enough to know that they guy wouldn't send an incompetent guy towards him.

"Ah, yes, I remember. Where are you currently?" Kita asked.

"I'm in Handeln IV. I understand that you've already reached Handeln?"

"Yes, I'm in Handeln III. My ship the Jeager is docked at the station. If you would, please meet me there."

"Sure, I'll head over there right away."

The talked a bit more before closing the call. This would be a fruitful meeting.
