Extreme situations

As everyone worked towards finishing up the upcoming preparations. The Hangers of the Jeager became a hub of activity as all the different things that they had ordered was started to get delivered.

So it had became a bit hard to move around the hanger bay as everything still needed to be sorted out. There were a lot of containers containing a Varity of things going about. Hauler bots were carrying everything everywhere.

In between this another week had already passed. Everything started to come together nicely. All the supplies had been delivered. Many new faces could be seen around the ship and many of the departments that lacked manpower didn't lack them anymore.

As Kita was walking down the hallway with Noir on his right shoulder, He found it abuzz with activity. There were a lot of new hires who were finishing up their integration into the crew. And the old ones who were busy guiding them.

People seemed to be moving around from department to department busy doing what needed to be done.

The people greeted him as he passed them, to which he replied back. Although Kita didn't like being on top the command chain, But it couldn't be helped. So he decided to fit into the role as much as possible.

He had recently started participating more in day to day operations of the ship to stay aware of what was happening on board. With a crew of about 300 people, there were a lot of things going on at the same time.

He feared that he would be behind if he stayed out of touch. So he tried to stay aware of everything.

Nova Solis was a great help at this.

Contrary to the first impressions, He was good. Really good.

within the last few weeks that he had started working, he had managed to reel in all the different departments and gotten them to work together. He had hired many people and filled in the roles that needed to be filled.

He worked with other departments to make sure that everything went as smoothly as possible. He had also managed to get his hands on some powerful warheads for the Jeager.

Some of which even Kita would find a bit difficult to procure. But Nova had somehow managed all of it!

Kita wondered how could that guy do so much in such little time? He alone was equal to a whole department of people.

Kita was headed to the Armory to see the latest batch of warheads that had just arrived. The shipment had came just this morning.

As Kita passed the inspection at the armory gate, he entered the highly secure armory.

This was actually his first time here, So he didn't know how it looked. But as he looked around, The bare gun metal deck felt oddly familiar. He could see the different sections divided up and heavily guarded dependent on the value of the contains.

He headed towards the group of people who were currently busy loading up the racks with the warheads.

He found Nova supervising and keeping note of each of the warheads. It seemed that he was logging and making sure that everything was in order.

As he approached them, Nova noticed him and stopped what he was doing to greet him.

"Hello sir, What brings you here?"

"Just here to see the new warheads. Are you done loading them up?"

"Not yet, Just finishing loading the Fritzers"

"I see.." Kita looked towards the warheads that was being loaded up into the automated missile system.

Like most other warships, The Jeager had a state of the art missile storage and loading system.

The system kept all the missiles in check and loaded them up into the turrets as needed.

This was quite handy as in a time of crisis, any mistake could mean the difference between life and death.

The Fritzers that Kita had insisted that they stock up on was currently being loaded into the system. He watched for a bit as the last of the missiles got loaded up in a matter of minutes.

After that it was the turn of the star of the show.

"So these are the G-GOG L Saturn's? The hottest warheads in the market?" Kita asked as he looked at the huge Warheads that they had just opened up.

These green and black warheads had a menacing appearance to them. They were about double the size of a Fritzer and each of them costed about 100 time more expensive.

Each one of these warheads costed Kita around 1 Million credits to procure. Which was on the high end for a missile.

But even such a high price tag wasn't enough to waver the people who wanted more firepower at their disposal.

These were currently the hottest warheads in the empire and were always out of stock everywhere. That was why Kita was surprised when Nova said that he had managed to get his hands on about a dozen of them. Which was more than Kita could do!

In the right circumstances, A single one of these warheads were enough to disable and blast a ship like the Jeager into pieces.

The company selling them was currently making making a fortune.

"They look pretty impressive!" Kita commented.

"Yes sir, with these, we can rest assure that we'll be able to safeguard ourselves to a great extent!"

"Make sure to keep these for special situations only. We can't afford to fire them regularly at our opponents."

"That's a give." Nova smiled as he acknowledged Kita's words.

Firing these missiles was basically firing money out of a turrets. One could by hundreds of other missiles with the price of a single one.

No matter how rich he was, Kita couldn't stomach firing these powerful missiles at threats that could be handled with a couple of Fritzers.

These missiles should only be used during extreme circumstances.

Kita hoped that these missiles wouldn't see use anytime soon.
