Chapter 40: Time to Say Goodbye
“I am Christine… recall any memories linked to me, in particular?” She hummed triumphantly, the pure evil and sinister darkness clearly painted all over what was left of her face.
“No….”
“Well, think again, little girl. There’s no denying it. You’ve been ferociously envious of me for ages. Mightily amusing, how I have such a strong ability to completely consume and overpower your thought life, in such a way.”

Pausing briefly to survey my reaction, Christine stared intently into my eyes – but to no avail, for I averted my gaze as much as I knew how.
