Imperfection

Lilly turned the doorknob and pushed open the door, she entered and closed it softly behind her before facing Margaret who was still in her work attire, sitting on her chair behind her desk. There was a big brown envelope on the desk and she was staring at some papers which Lilly believed to be pictures.

She took a step closer to the desk and paused, /"you...you sent for me ma'am?/" Everywhere was quiet, except for the pitter patter of the rain on the windows, the whooshing sound of the heavy wind.

Margaret looked up at her then, her beautiful gray eyes were clouded with anger, /"Lillian, what did I tell you?/"

/"Ma'am, I don't understand,/" she shook her head innocently.

Margaret stood up from her chair, /"just a week ago, you were here in my study, what was my warning to you?/"

Lillian's heart started beating furiously in her chest, what is ma'am talking about? Why did she suddenly asked about last week, /"ma...ma'am...I.../"
