As though time had never been a divider, and distance never an issue, the two boys sat together, their heads bowed as they 'operated' on the poor, unsuspecting bear, babbling away in a deteriorating vocabulary that hit the ears with the smoothness of nuts and bolts in a blender. Lumen was on his knees, his plastic stethoscope dangling from his ears, and Ember was frowning deeply as he pinned Pooh bear down so Doctor Lou could do whatever it was he was planning on doing with the injection in his hand.
