I had come to accept that if something could go wrong, it would; these last few months had been nothing but one landslide after the other.
I had also come to expect that living with Sterling would eventually give birth to one of his infamous pissy-fits. I wasn't disappointed. The two, as it turned out, had interlinked.
Shoving another marshmallow in my mouth, offering one to my new little side-kicks, Ember and Lumen, who accepted greedily, we watched Star rant and rave from the safety of the kitchen window. His words were muffled through the thick glass, but we still managed to catch a word or two.
And Axe, poor, poor, Axe, he just stood there with a bored look on his face, accepting that he was the subject of Sterling's rage. He leaned against the boys' climbing frame, arms folding, occasionally nodding to what my silly mate was ranting.
